(More customer reviews)I received a Kindle for Christmas - yey! - and debated for hours about which jacket to purchase with my Amazon gift card. This M-Edge Platform Jacket seemed to fit everything I was looking for:
- Protection for the Kindle
- The ability to be free-standing
- A built in space for a light
- Quality appearance
I purchased this jacket in purple. It is a nice shade - not too bright or too dark - and has a good quality feel to it. I thought I might miss having real leather but I don't. This is well-made with the soft microsuede interior which gives it good protection and a nice feel when holding it in your hand. The Kindle slipped in easily yet seems very secure.
The free-standing capability is great. You can sit and have a meal while reading or set it on a pillow on your stomach when laying in bed without having to hold it.(The M-Edge E-Luminator 2 Booklight is great too - just got it so not sure of durability but the light is plenty bright with two settings and gives even illumination over the Kindle page) Another comfortable option for reading with this style of jacket is the ability to sit with your knees up with the cover flipped over your knees.
The platform jacket/light combination is a bit pricey. If I hadn't had a gift card, I would have been more hesitant to purchase. If I could make any alteration to this cover, I may have made the strap that closes the cover and allows it to stand up just a bit longer as to allow a greater range of angles in the stand up position. However, with all the good things this product offers, that is a small detail.
I am definitely happy I finally decided on this jacket for my Kindle.
