(More customer reviews)After two weeks of lousy connection speeds, disconnects etc., I re-read the documentation that I normally don't need to read. I'm a network engineer for almost 20 years, and one simple check box escaped my eyes. There is a default setting for using an Alfa based adapter that is enabled, which, for all other adapters must be disabled. It's located under the TurboMode settings depending on your firmware. This must be disabled to work with any other standard wifi.. Once this was resolved, the unit blasted off and has been rock solid ever since. No more needing to reboot like my Linksys WAP54g's. Two of these replaced 5 linksys waps with even better coverage, although I did opt for high gain +9dB antennas. The factory antenna could have been fine, but since I had them lying around, I figured I might as well use them. I bought the extra antennas as a last ditch effort for all my wifi cams that I use for the security system. Now I have no more reboots or disconnects... at last.. peace and quiet. Can't say how durable they are yet though, have only had them about 6 weeks. Heavy metal casing disperses the heat very well though..
