(More customer reviews)Yes, this is another black computer case. But since you are reading this review, you must be in the market for one, right? So let's get this one started. This case is pretty well thought out. It has slots and compartments for a regular laptop (up to a 16" display) and your digital tablet of choice. The bag itself is very lightweight, definitely under one pound in weight, which is pretty good for what is going on with this case.
There are two main zippered compartments for which to put the electronica itself, and the accompanying cords and cables. In the middle compartment there is a stiff, two sided accordion divider, divided up into three sections. The inside of this divided section is a light color, so you won't be staring into a black hole of darkness, looking for that black cable, or what have you. This is one detail that is often overlooked, but to me, is very important. I am a woman who likes black purses, and let me tell you how many times I've cursed my purses with the black lining. I cannot find a thing in that shadowless darkness! There are also other pockets throughout.
The third and front compartment has many pockets and a strap sewn across the middle that would hold business cards, pens, etc. plus a zipped mesh compartment on the out-facing part of the compartment. There is a front zippered compartment is sort of a thin Neoprene type material that is very flexible. This is great for more cords and cables.
The compartment that would be worn closest to your side is lined completely in the light aqua-like color. In this compartment there is a wonderful furry (okay, not furry, but more Polartec-like) middle pocket that would be great to put the more delicate things that live in your bag. Perhaps a hard-drive backup, a picture frame, or CDs. Whatever, it is big enough to contain these sorts of things at about 7 1/2"wide by 9 1/2" deep. There is a pocket on the backside that has a smaller little pocket to stick your cellphone or MP3 player/whatever. I just love all of the compartments in this case!
The strap: Sometimes everything has been thought through to a capital T but the strap sucks. Not here. This strap is quite wide at 2", and there is a fixed shoulder pad that is 13" long. It is okay that it's fixed because the strap is adjustable from both sides of the bag. Also love this, as I am a shorter person and the pad would wind up in a the wrong spot if it wasn't adjustable on both sides. With this wonderful wide and thick strap pad, even when your bag is loaded up it should be fine to carry for long periods of time. There are also briefcase-like handles which are padded as well. If you need to set it down somewhere, there is a nifty Velcro security strap on the backside of the case to tether it to a table or chair, just in case.
One other thing that you may want to know is that this bag does not have plastic feet on the corners on the bottom of the bag. This case seems to work fine without them.
